Pony Popsicles

After spending some quality time at the Swani household this week, my student Raina (@raina_swani) and I had some free time and wanted to put some cute but healthy treats together for our boys at home, Lux and Teddy, to eat after lessons! From our documentation on IG story and IG live, so many of you wanted Raina’s recipes, so she gave them to me to share with you! So if you try them out, be sure to tag us and use the hashtag #ponypopsicles 🙂

*** PLEASE READ- A few disclaimers before we get into the recipes:

1. We are not horse treat experts or vets! We just wanted treats for our horses without added sugar and so we put together ingredients we already give our own horses. Before making treats for your own horses, please consult with your vet that your horse can have these ingredients!!

2. We’ve made these recipes in Tupperware containers and muffin tins. You can really put them in any container, but if your base is going to be on the stickier side (ie. peppermint, peanut butter) spray it with a non-stick cooking spray!

PEPPERMINT CUP

(For advanced treat-makers only! Read all directions before you begin 🙂

-Melt Peppermint and nonstick cooking spray/butter in a non-plastic container in the microwave for about about a minute and a half, checking every 20 second until peppermint pieces are fully melted (Bowl/container should be one that you are okay with peppermint sticking to it!! We got ours off our bowl with hot water and lots of hard work!)

-Quickly remove peppermint from container into your muffin tins or non-plastic container of choice that has already been thoroughly greased with non-stock cooking spray (we learned the hard way!) Use spoons greased in cooking spray to mold peppermint into a little cup along the bottom and sides of your muffin tin. CAUTION: mixture will be super hot and sticky!

—Add in layers in this order:

•Banana, mashed

•Nature Valley Oats & Honey Granola Bars, crumbled

•Garnish with a slice of Banana

—Freeze Overnight, keep in freezer when not serving to your pony 🙂

We hope you enjoy and can’t wait to see your treats! #ponypopsicles

Raina and Bethany
